Bella Thorne is speaking out in support of Time's Up, the anti-sexual misconduct movement, by sharing her own painful experience.
On Sunday, the 20-year-old actress revealed in an Instagram post that she was molested as a child. "I was sexually abused and physically [abused] growing up from the day I can remember till I was 14 when I finally had the courage to lock my door at night and sit by it," she wrote. "All damn night. Waiting for someone to take advantage of my life again. Over and over I waited for it to stop and finally it did."
Thorne continued, "But some of us aren't as lucky to get out alive. Please today stand up for every soul Mistreated. #timesup."
The Famous in Love star is speaking out on the same day that droves of celebrities are showing up to the Golden Globe Awards wearing black as a way of standing in solidarity with sexual harassment victims and those who have been treated unfairly in Hollywood.
While Thorne is not attending the awards ceremony, she did announce on her Instagram story that she plans on wearing black today. "Time's up, b**ch!" she declared.
Time's Up is a campaign fundraiser that is raising money for the Legal Defense Fund, a charitable organization that helps victims of sexual misconduct find legal representation.
