Kristen Wiig has apparently never seen “Game of Thrones,” judging by her appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Wednesday night.
Dressed as “Thrones” character Daenerys Targaryen — aka “Khaleesi” aka “Karen” — Wiig stopped by “The Tonight Show” to promote her new film, “Welcome to Me,” in which she plays a woman who wins the lottery and uses the funds to finance her own daytime talk show. Wiig and Fallon, stifling giggles throughout, didn’t spend much of the interview discussing Wiig’s new film, though.
Instead, Fallon was curious about Khaleesi’s life. When asked what her real name was, Khaleesi Wiig responded with a confident “Karen.” The dragon on her shoulder? “Carl.”
Wiig also expounded upon her queenly pastimes, which include playing the mandolin. “I also tell jokes,” she said. “I’ve been doing some standup … I don’t know if you’ll get it. It’s about rocks and swords and stuff.”
This isn’t the first time Wiig has appeared on “The Tonight Show” playing a character (or actual person) she knows little about. In the past, she’s visited Fallon as Michael Jordan and Harry Styles.
